Announcement from Mr. McAninch

Dear PCHS Parents/Guardians,

I hope you are having a great summer. It is at this point each year that we send this letter to you in preparation for a new school year. As of this date, we are returning to school as we knew it before the Covid-19 pandemic. Many of our procedures will return to normal, but there will be some new things of which we want to make you aware.

Communication between our school and families has changed over the past year. Each student is now enrolled in a Grade level Google Classroom. There are important announcements and news for each grade level in each classroom, so make sure you and your student are checking this regularly using your child's school Google login. In addition to this:

*You can access all information from our Guidance Office by visiting PCHS Counselors’ Corner, which is made available through the school’s website (maroons.net) and Facebook page. Both the school and FB page will also include regular news and announcements for PCHS families. We encourage you to follow PCHS on FB. If you ever need assistance with any of these tools please contact the school.

*Messages home are frequently sent using the SendIt program. You will receive these messages as voice calls, emails, and text messages. It is important to make sure that your contact numbers and email address in Infinite Campus are correct so that you receive these.

*You can access the Infinite Campus Parent Portal at any time to view student grades, attendance, and behavior. Progress reports will be sent home with students every 6 weeks and report cards at the end of each semester. We encourage you to maintain frequent contact with your child’s teachers throughout the school year.

In order to access Infinite Campus Parent Portal, all parents and guardians are required to update their registration each year. To complete the annual update, please log in to your Parent Portal, choose “More” and then “Online Registration.” Please remember to complete the Meal Benefits as well. For problems logging in to the Parent Portal, please contact the school’s Guidance Office.

Student schedules will be available near the end of summer break. You will receive SendIt notifications about this.

9th and 10th grade students: GEAR UP is hosting a Transition and STEM Day Camp. You can get information about this event and receive other GEAR UP messages through the Remind app by sending a text to the number 81010 and typing @c6cccbk as the message. School will begin promptly at 8:15 and dismiss at 3:10 daily. This year we are switching from a 5-period Trimester to a 6-Period Semester schedule; details including the updated bell schedule can be found in the Grade Level Google Classroom. The District calendar for the 21-22 year can be found at Pulaski.net under “Calendar”.

We also want to remind you that morning parent drop off is in the upper parking lot, accessible from University Drive, and afternoon parent pick up is in the lower parking lot, accessible from Hwy 39. We encourage those who drop off their students to be early on the first few days of school until everyone learns the traffic patterns around the campus.

Nothing is more important to your child’s future than education. Working together, we will guarantee a bright future for all of our students. We are excited about the new school year and all the great opportunities it brings for your child!
