Sign up for the FREE Parental Information Academy Classes.

Applications are taken on a first come first serve basis. Please note: due to COVID-19, we are following all CDC protocols and should we have to modify or cancel classes, our team will notify you.

Parental Information Academy:

The Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office in conjunction with Pulaski County Schools Parental Information Academy (P411A) is offering an educational program designed to provide parents/guardians with a working knowledge of the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office and Pulaski County Schools District personnel and operations in order to promote safety and foster collaboration. The P411A was developed with the belief that education is the key to understanding and with understanding comes a more open line of communication with parents.

Class members will be a cross section of the Pulaski County communities. Business professionals, homemakers, tradespeople, retirees, and others are encouraged to apply for admission. The minimum age for enrollment is 19 and you must live or work in Pulaski County to be eligible to attend.  There is no cost for the P411A.

TRAINING PROGRAM:

The training program is a series of 10 classes, held once each week for two hours. It consists of classroom and hands-on instruction, with each session facilitated by deputies, from their particular area of expertise.

Graduates of the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office and Pulaski County School District Academy are not trained to be police officers or vigilantes. The purpose of the academy is to provide information to attendees to allow them to make informed judgments. Participants learn safety, prevention and good habits over different topics.

SCHEDULE:

There will be four separate P411A cadres. Classes are held each week from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. To graduate, each participant is required to attend at least 8 of the 10 classes in his or her cadre. One class is scheduled on Saturday as well from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. Classes will be conducted in Pulaski County School District Buildings. To register for PG411 classes please contact Deputy Alex Wesley.

IMPROVING RELATIONS THROUGH EDUCATION:

It is the hope of the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office and Pulaski County School District that the continued availability of the P411 Academy will improve law enforcement, school and community relations through this education process. In turn, the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office and School District becomes more aware of the feelings and concerns of the community from the participants' interaction and input. Together, we can create a positive coalition of citizens and law enforcement/schools working together to make the county of Pulaski and Pulaski County Schools an even safer place to attend, work and live.

WHAT ATTENDEES RECEIVE AFTER COMPLETION?

Upon completion of the P411 Academy each class member will receive a certificate of completion, T-shirt, and valuable information on dealing with emergencies, safety and prevention.

IS THERE A REGISTRATION DEADLINE FOR PARENTAL INFORMATION ACADEMY?

We will accept registration for as long as we can.  However, space for the Parental Information Academy will be limited to 20 slots, and when we are full, we are full.  At that point, we will begin adding PEOPLE to our Waiting List. Upon receipt of your application a confirmation email along with a text will be sent to your email address and cell phone.
